-
Coach Access & Parking
New Lanark is around an hour's drive from Glasgow (25 miles/40 kms) or Edinburgh (35 miles/56 Kms) and is well sign-posted from all major routes.
Postcode for SatNav. ML11 9BY
Please Note: Some online route planners and Sat Nav devices give directions to enter New Lanark via The Beeches. However this country track is NOT recommended for vehicles. Please follow brown road signs which will direct you to New Lanark via Hyndford Road.
On arrival at New Lanark Mills, coaches should follow the road down the hill to drop-off in the heart of the village. The road is steep but accessible. The coach will then turn round outside the Counting House and return up the hill to park in the main car park. At the end of the visit, the coach can return to the village to pick up the group. Note – The driver must exercise extreme caution when reversing the coach in the village.
-
Payment & Invoicing
Payment must be made in full 7 days in advance of your arrival. Payment can be settled by invoice, credit card or BACS transfer. The group leader can collect ‘Passport Tickets’ (based on the appropriate package) from the visitor centre reception desk in the Institute. Full details will be given when a booking is confirmed. Please make cheques payable to New Lanark Trading Ltd. Payment may also be made by credit card.
-
Accessibility
New Lanark Visitor Centre welcomes everyone. However, the location of the historic Village in a steep-sided valley beside the Falls of Clyde, though picturesque, is not ideal terrain for wheelchair-users and visitors with limited or restricted mobility. This guide should help you to plan your visit - please get in touch if we can help with arrangements to allow you to enjoy a safe and comfortable visit.
