2 trains run every hour (1 every hour on Sundays) from Glasgow Central or Motherwell to Lanark railway station (1.5 miles/2.5 km from New Lanark). Local buses and taxis are then available at the bus stance, adjacent to Lanark Railway station and Lanark Visit Scotland Information Centre. New Lanark Visitor Centre welcomes everyone. However, the location of the historic Village in a steep-sided valley beside the Falls of Clyde, though picturesque, is not ideal terrain for wheelchair-users and visitors with limited or restricted mobility.
