Here at New Lanark World Heritage Site we have a fantastic team of volunteers of all ages and backgrounds.
Anyone can join the volunteer team and there are a wide variety of areas in which you can help out. For all roles, time commitment is flexible and full training is provided. Our current volunteer opportunities are listed here however, if you feel you can support us in another way, please get in touch.
Volunteer Roles
Exhibition Steward Volunteer
Exhibition Steward volunteers will join a diverse team of enthusiastic helpers who support the delivery of world-class exhibitions at New Lanark. Exhibition Steward volunteers play a key role in the day to day running of the Exhibition Gallery and in ensuring that New Lanark’s exhibition space is a welcoming and friendly environment.
Public Programming Volunteers
Public Programming volunteers will join a diverse team of enthusiastic helpers who support the delivery of events and workshops at New Lanark. Our public programme is held on various dates throughout the year, often on evenings, weekends and during school holiday periods so volunteers must be flexible and often able to help out at short notice!
New Lanark Archive & Search Room Volunteer
Volunteers in this area assist with the research, cataloguing, care and public promotion of our historic archive collection of artefacts, photographs, drawings, documents and oral histories. This is the perfect role for people interested in heritage and history, especially if you like nothing better than exploring old stuff and discovering new things!
