NEW LANARK MILL HOTEL AND SELF-CATERING WATERHOUSES

Sadly, we have taken the difficult decision to close New Lanark’s Mill One Hotel temporarily from Monday 9th November, due to the current Covid situation.

The relentless nature of the pandemic, the associated restrictions in Scotland, the lockdown in England/ Wales and absence of overseas visitors has left hotel occupancy at an unsustainable level.

Therefore we are putting the hotel staff into the furlough scheme to help protect their jobs, until the hotel can reopen. Since returning from lockdown our team have been working extremely hard to provide guests with excellent service and experiences and we can’t wait to do so again.

We are in the process of contacting all guests impacted by this lock down and will update our guests regularly as we work towards reopening the hotel.

We look forward to welcoming all our guests back at New Lanark once conditions improve and would like to thank you all for your understanding during these difficult times.

Our Commitment to your safety and wellbeing

In light of the recent advice from the Government in regards to COVID-19, we have made some changes here at New Lanark World Heritage Site to ensure that we can open certain aspects of our site, while ensuring that our staff and visitors safety is our top priority and focus.

As Government guidelines change our site begins to be able to open certain aspects of our offering with our staff beginning to return to work. We have put in place mandatory training on our staff's return to work to ensure that all of our staff are compliant with our health and safety procedures and cleanliness standards.

As much as certain aspects of our service will have changed, our main focus remains ensuring everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience and we look forward to giving you a warm welcome on your return.

Enhanced Cleaning

Enhanced cleaning and sanitising protocols in line with government guidelines, using certified products from leading suppliers. Our cleaning processes have been upgraded and rigorous sanitisation procedures continue to be carried out by our teams throughout our site, including public areas, bedrooms and our spaces behind the scenes. You will find hand sanitising stations for use on arrival and at various locations throughout the site.

We have also removed cushions and runners from our restaurant to enable our cleanliness standards to our high standards.

Social Distancing

Safe spaces and social distancing with signage designed to safely guide and direct. We have established safe social distancing practices, using the appropriate markers and clear signage to help guide our guests and our teams to move safely. With our many buildings and unique spaces, we have made the best use of areas and outdoor terraces, patios and grounds, so that you will feel comfortably distanced from other guests whilst relaxing and enjoying the surroundings.

We ask you to be responsible, and not to come to New Lanark if you feel unwell.
