Heritage Activities

A range of heritage-based community activities will be delivered in parallel to the capital works.   The House History Project will focus on the people that lived in New Lanark and is hoped will achieve updated Archive Material, Genealogy Workshops and the delivery of a Play. There will also be a strong emphasis on Traditional Building Skills training through a series of talks, demonstrations and a special exhibition.  Other events include workshops, project discovery days, including hard-hat tours of the restoration process and ‘back in time experiences’, where visitors will explore life in the mill village during the 18th and 19th centuries.
