New Lanark Conservation Trust actively encourages enquiries from the press. As an independent site, we rely on national and international publicity from features on the village to help spread knowledge of the site. We don’t employ the services of PR companies, you will be dealing with the staff and villagers in New Lanark direct.

We regularly host familiarization trips for journalists, and in partnership with the Tourist Board, can often offer complimentary travel and accommodation for journalists interested in the village. Since being awarded World Heritage Site status in 2001, press, film and TV interest in the village has noticeably increased. Recent examples include, a visit from the BBC Beechgrove Garden programme makers, a crew from China TV to film a documentary on socialism, and overnight visits from journalists writing travel features for the Guardian, London Times, and the Belfast Telegraph.
